HUNGARIAN AUTOMOTIVE PLANTS CAN NOW MANUFACTURE VIRTUALLY ANYTHING

Tisza Automotive was also represented at the Automotive Conference in Budapest

In 2025, a total of 27 automotive investments were realized in Hungary with the support of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA). Their combined value amounts to EUR 1.1 billion and they are expected to create 3,600 new jobs, as highlighted at the Automotive Conference organized by HIPA in Budapest.

The prestigious conference brought together key players of the Hungarian automotive industry, including Audi Hungaria Zrt., BMW Manufacturing Hungary Kft., BYD Company Limited, Magyar Suzuki Zrt., Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft., and Opel Szentgotthárd Kft.

Tisza Automotive was also present at the event. On behalf of the company, Managing Director Ákos Barna held forward-looking discussions, among others, with Dr. István Szászi, Head of Bosch in Hungary and the Adriatic region.

István Joó, Government Commissioner and CEO of HIPA, emphasized at the conference held at the Eiffel Workshop House in Budapest that Hungarian plants are now capable of “manufacturing virtually anything,” from traditional internal combustion engine vehicles to hybrid and electric vehicles.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stressed that Hungary must continue to serve as a meeting point for automotive industry players from different regions. The government’s objective is to ensure that the automotive sector remains the backbone of the Hungarian economy and that Hungary maintains its key role in European vehicle manufacturing.

Adrijana Mesarović, Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Economy, noted that numerous automotive companies are present in the country, ranging from Stellantis, which manufactures Fiat vehicles at the Zastava plant in Kragujevac, to Continental. She added that cooperation with Hungarian automotive industry players can contribute to the stabilization of the entire region.

One of the sector’s largest and most innovative players, the Bosch Group, saw its Head for Hungary and the Adriatic region, István Szászi, receive the Knight’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit at the conference. The award was granted in recognition of his achievements in the domestic automotive industry, his contribution to strengthening university–industry cooperation, and his efforts in advancing research and development.
